About Us
A Practice Built on Conviction
theplans.in was founded on a single belief — that great design is not a luxury, but a responsibility. We are an integrated architecture and design practice working across India.
Our Story
Fifteen Years of Considered Practice
theplans.in was established in 2009 by Arjun Mehta, with a mandate to bring rigorous, thoughtful design to every project regardless of scale. What began as a small studio in Mumbai has grown into a practice of forty designers, architects, and project managers working across twelve cities.
We believe that architecture and interior design are inseparable disciplines. The buildings we design and the spaces within them are conceived together — as a single, coherent act of making. This integrated approach is what distinguishes our work and what our clients return to us for.
Over fifteen years, we have completed more than two hundred projects — from intimate private residences to large-scale commercial campuses. Each one has been approached with the same commitment to craft, context, and the long view.
What We Stand For
Craft
We believe in the primacy of making. Every detail — from the structural system to the door handle — is considered with the same care.
Context
Good design is always a response to place, climate, culture, and the people who will inhabit a space. We listen before we draw.
Longevity
We design for the long term. Buildings and interiors that age gracefully, that improve with time, and that outlast trends.
Collaboration
The best outcomes emerge from genuine partnership — with our clients, our consultants, and the craftspeople who bring our designs to life.
The Team
Led by Experience
Our leadership team brings together decades of practice across architecture, interiors, landscape, and project delivery.
